Designs, sketches, and some paintings I have created over the years. I generally like to use a combination of coloured pencils and markers for my designs, but I have been experimenting more with watercolour to better communicate different kinds of fabrics and textures. I am planning to start exploring digital art further to broaden my options.

My concept for these designs was centred around the themes of fate in Macbeth, as related to the inevitability of decay and natural processes. I wanted to explore how humanity’s battles lead to its own destruction, and show how the more the characters are consumed by fate, the more they get taken over by nature.

Set in the 80s at a golf club, I wanted to place the themes of ambition in Macbeth into the context of wealthy businessmen fighting over the rightful ownership of a country club.

For this design exercise, I set the two leads of the musical Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street in the 1970s punk scene. I felt this style suited both characters' lower societal status in the story, and especially reflected Sweeney's disillusionment and anger at the world.

This project tested my historical research skills, as I needed to source every detail that comprised two opposing sides' uniforms in the Napolenic Wars.

With this project, I explored connecting historical designs with design concepts and character considerations. Since The Tempest takes place on an island, I used a lot of nature motifs, and took advantage of the era's poofy and flowy silhouettes.

This was a commissioned piece; the shell was based off a real shell my client owned, and the background pattern was inspired by an antique dish set she had.
